Ingredients
Base fibers
Virgin wood pulp (softwood and hardwood blends): Provides strength, bulk and absorbency.
Recycled fibers (post-consumer or mill broke): Sometimes included to reduce cost and environmental impact; typically used in lesser proportions because they can reduce softness and strength.
Specialty fibers (e.g., TCF/ECF pulp): Processed to control brightness and chemical residues.
Wet- and dry-strength resins
Dry-strength agents (e.g., cationic starch, polyacrylamide): Improve tensile and tear strength in dry state so sheets don't fall apart in handling.
