80 Girls, 40 Boys and Elderly Residents Receive Essential Supplies Including Blankets, Daily Necessities and Maize Meal
Johannesburg, South Africa - July 18, 2026

At 9:00 a.m. local time on July 18, PASSION TECH GROUP South Africa partnered with the Johannesburg Chinese Church to conduct a community outreach visit at Khaya Centre, a poverty relief organization located in the Lehae community of Johannesburg.
The initiative provided essential living supplies, including blankets, daily necessities and maize meal, to 80 girls, 40 boys and elderly residents supported by the organization. Through this charitable effort, PASSION TECH GROUP and the local Chinese community brought practical assistance and heartfelt care to vulnerable groups in South Africa.
Bringing Warmth Through Action: Essential Supplies Delivered to Those in Need
Early on July 18, the outreach team departed from the Johannesburg Chinese Church and traveled to Khaya Centre, located in the Lehae community in southern Johannesburg.
Operated by the South African non-profit organization Mount Olive Outreach, Khaya Centre carries a meaningful name - "Khaya," which means "home" in isiZulu. For hundreds of vulnerable children and elderly residents in the Lehae community, the centre serves as a place of support, care and hope.
During the visit, the team delivered blankets, daily necessities and maize meal directly to children and elderly residents at the centre. As South Africa was experiencing its coldest winter period, the donated blankets provided essential protection against the cold, while maize meal - a staple food for many local communities - helped support the centre's daily operations.
The atmosphere throughout the event was warm and heartfelt. The children welcomed the visiting team with bright smiles, while elderly residents expressed their sincere appreciation for the support they received.
Beyond providing material assistance, members of the visiting team spent time engaging with the children, learning about their daily lives, education and personal experiences. The initiative aimed not only to provide practical support, but also to create meaningful connections and emotional encouragement.

Building Bridges of Care: Chinese Community and Chinese Enterprise Join Hands to Make a Difference
The charity outreach initiative was organized by the Johannesburg Chinese Church, with the support and coordination of church representatives Li Ying and Lin Shuang. PASSION TECH GROUP South Africa actively participated in the event, contributing resources and assisting with the preparation and distribution of donated supplies.
Zhang Dongwan, General Manager of PASSION TECH GROUP South Africa, attended the entire event on behalf of the company and played an active role in coordinating the donation process and on-site distribution.
Li Ying, representative of the Johannesburg Chinese Church, expressed her appreciation for PASSION TECH GROUP's support and participation. She noted that the Chinese community in South Africa has always maintained close connections with local communities. By partnering with Chinese enterprises such as PASSION TECH GROUP, the community continues to demonstrate its commitment to integrating into local society and giving back through meaningful actions.
The collaboration between the Chinese community and Chinese enterprises reflects a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and contributing positively to South African society.

About Khaya Centre: A Story Built Around the Meaning of "Home"
Khaya Centre is located at Stand 2824 Primrose Drive, Lehae, southern Johannesburg. The centre was developed by Mount Olive Outreach, a South African registered non-profit organization, through its Home-Based Care Programme launched in 2003.
The word "Khaya" means "home" in isiZulu. For many vulnerable children, families and elderly residents in the Lehae community, the centre represents more than a support facility - it serves as a place of care, protection and hope.
Mount Olive Outreach is registered with the South African Department of Social Development and is dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups, including orphans, vulnerable children and youth (OVCY), elderly residents, early childhood development (ECD) programmes, and survivors requiring empowerment and support services.
Lehae and the neighboring Thembelihle community are among the disadvantaged areas in southern Johannesburg, where residents have long faced challenges including high unemployment, substance abuse and domestic violence. The impact of HIV/AIDS has further intensified social difficulties, leaving many children orphaned or vulnerable due to the loss of parental support.
Since the launch of its Home-Based Care Programme in 2003, Mount Olive Outreach has identified and supported more than 800 children and their families.
As one of the organization's core initiatives, Khaya Centre currently provides daily meals for approximately 1,100 vulnerable children and monthly food packages for 158 adults. The centre also offers a wide range of community support programmes, including free early childhood development education, youth skills training, victim empowerment initiatives and HIV awareness campaigns.
The donated supplies from PASSION TECH GROUP and the Johannesburg Chinese Church will directly contribute to improving the daily living conditions of children and elderly residents supported by the centre.
